Tierras de Murillo was founded in 1953 and it is the first cooperative winery built in La Rioja. The origin of the grapes is solely from the company's own vineyards, spreading over 500 hectares of land, with the oldest dating from 1900. The Mediterranean climate, with scarce rainfall well distributed during the year, and the predominance of dry land cultivation, make Murillo a privileged place for the cultivation of the vine awarding maximum quality to the grape as production is naturally regulated through hydric stress.
